All of Red Squadron returns to Delta Base. The hangars open and allow them to land. Sure enough, the long-range sensors were picking up two Star Destroyers orbiting above them. Delta Base was lucky not to be destroyed before they knew they were even under attack. The pilots return to a very different scene than they left. Men are running around loading crates of equipment onto transports. Garven Dreis leads his men to a room with a few dozen other pilots. As was always the case in the Rebellion, they had many more pilots than ships. The men of Red Squadron and Gold Squadron crammed into the small room to listen to a hurried briefing. General Jan Dodonna stood before the pilots to brief them on the Rebel escape plan that had been worked out in preparation for this eventuality. "Hello, men. As far as we can tell, we have come under attack by two Imperial Star-Destroyers. Right now our men are loading onto transports and preparing to flee. Gold Squadron, you will be flying escort to the main fleet. Red Squadron will split into two groups to be sent at each Star Destroyer as a screening attack. All you need to do is distract them long enough for our transports to escape with the majority of our forces. Each half of Red Squadron will be supported by a Corellian Corvette to provide fire support. Once the fleet jumps to hyperspace, turn tail and get out of there. Good luck, and godspeed."

Dreis stepped forward. "Alright, Red Squadron. You can choose an A-Wing, X-Wing, or Y-Wing. It's up to your preference. If you choose a Y-Wing, you'll be given a co-pilot from our reserves. We are going to split into two groups. I will lead Alpha Group. Bravo Group will be led by Red Two. I'll pick who goes in which group. Be ready in ten minutes!" <Tag Everyone>

Corrin looked over at Crix,"Do you want to team up again? You can be gunner and I will pilot. We could use a Y-Wing."
<Tag Crix>
He quickly walked after Red Leader, "Sir, if Crix is willing to fly with me again I would like to volunteer us for a Y-Wing."

<Tag Corrin> "No use changing something that works, You do the flying, and i'll do the killin'!" Crix told corrin with half a grin on his face. Crix took a look around the room, and after realizing the sheer number of men running around in a complete panic, he mumbled under his breath "I must either be really brave, or very stupid.. but im excited to kick some imperial ass, and thats all that matters..."

The men and women of Red Squadron climbed into their fighters. The majority took X-Wings, the most versatile fighter. A few Y-Wings and A-Wings prepared as well. The ships took to the air and took places around the large transport ships and other ships of the Rebel fleet. Once they were ready, the last transport crew dropped the base's shields and they all took off out of the atmosphere. As they left the atmosphere, the two Imperial Star Destroyers ominously grew larger and larger before them. The two massive ships were spread out and facing them.
